Hello everyone! I am Kelly Farmer, a Native San Diegan, raised in the East County. I attended elementary school at W.D. Hall Elementary, and junior high at Greenfield Junior High; both are part of the Cajon Unified School District. I went to high school at Granite Hills High School in El Cajon, and graduated in 1989. I attended the University of California at San Diego, Thurgood Marshall College, and majored in Political Science - Public Policy Analysis. What speaks to me most clearly in CSUSM’s Mission Statement is the theme of transformation and social justice. There cannot be any reasonable argument made against the need of this country, the richest and freest in the world, to provide a high-quality, inclusive, exceptional education to the citizens of this country. Kids are citizens, too! The acquisition of an education is the most sought after privledge in the world. It is a path out of poverty; a path toward justice. As stated best by Henry Brooks Adams, “education makes people easy to lead, but difficult to drive; easy to govern, but impossible to enslave.”

I think that Juanito is the most interesting character from the story.Because he has to find his fourgen and he went out to the woods and found a duende.The duende pointed to a path and juanito went to that path and found this girl he liked. So juanito asked Blanca Flor if their was any jobs. Don Ricardo saw Juanito and said that "didn't she tell you to leave?"and Juanito said that yes and Don Ricardo gave him 3 jobs. So Juanito did them by Blanca Flours magic. And Don Ricardo figured out that it was Blanca Flor's work. He gave Juanito a much hard job that not even Blanca Flor magic could do. But Blanca Flor and Juanito had escaped and on their way Juanito and Blanca flor turned intomany diffrent things so Don Ricardo would not cath them. don Ricardo mad a spell on Juanito and Blanca Flor then Juanito got home and forgott about Blanca Flor . Thats why i think Juanito is more interesting than any other charectar.

I think the interesting caracter is Blanca Flor.I think she is because she helped him when he had to cary the water whit the timble.Then she helped him escape Don Ricardo.Blanca Flor helped Juanito they turend in to a churche.Then in to crops of corn .Then ofcourse in to doves.
I alsow thin so because i like it when she gives them the doves.Then Juanito remembers everything .Then they both fall in love.Blanca Flor goes to Juanitos party thats when he told his parent that. "This is the love i found in my journey."

I think Blanca Flor is the most interesting character. I think that because she has all the magical powers. She would use her powers for good like helping Juanito move the lake and make the bread for Don Ricardo.
She also turned Juanito and herself into things like a church and a bell ringer, a scarecrow and some corn, and, my favorite, into ducks. Another reason was because of the doves. When she gave the doves to Juanito at the end and he remembered everything I thought that was magical. Thats why I liked Blanca Flor.

I think juanito is more interesting. He was more interesting because he had a bigger role in the story and he had to work for don ricardo. he also found blanca florand when his family embraced him he forget everything

I think that Don Richardo is the most interesting in Blanca Flor. I picked him cause h has light magic and traditional spells. He is the most realistic too, he makes people do pratically impossible qusts nd is a evil villan holding Blanca Flor hostage. Don Richardo is always after lovers and wants to make Juanito a slave and he puts spells on them that makes them forget eachother if they ever kiss or something. So when they get to Junitos home they get two singing doves that remove the curse

In the story "Blanca Flor" the character that i thought was the most interesting was Juanito. In the beginning Juanito was brave to leave the comfort of his home to look for his fortune out in the world. With only a few tortillas in his bag he ventured to the woods were he would be completely alone. I thought he would be scared of the buende, but he was only surprised to see him.
By the end of the story he realized that his fortune was not money or riches but the love of Blanca Flor. they went home and lived happily ever after.

I think Blanca Flor is the most interesting character. Because she is smart and clever. She knew how to fool Don Ricardo by spitting into the fire. So when her name was called by Don Ricardo the fire seemed to say "Yes I am here." She also used her magic to help Juanito with his jobs by moving the water from the lake to the field, and she also used her majaic to help him plant, harvest, grow wheat, and grind it to have a loaf of bread. She also made a church with her magic and turned Juanito into an old bell ringer and turned herself into a statue. She also turned Juanito into a scareacrow and herself into a stalk of corn in a field. My favorite part was when she took two doves and made them act out what had happened in the forest to Juanito and her. That is how Juanito got his memory back in regards to him and Blanca Flor.

In the story Blanca Flor there were many characters.I liked them all.But I thought that one of them was the most interesting.I think Don Ricardo is the most interesting and clever character of the story Blaca Flor.
I liked how Don came up with clever ideas. One idea was when he gave Jaunito three jobs and told him that if he completed the jobs then he could leave. He also showed how clever he was when he figured out that Jaunito and Blanca Flor were not really a stalk of corn and a scare crow.I thought that it was clever when he cast a spell on Blanca Flor and Juanito.

I think the mkost important character is blanca flor.Well first she helps Jaunito do the stuff that don ricardo gives him.she also helps jaunito hide when don ricardo comes by.So she turns him into a bellringer.
Then blanca flor keeps wacthing him when don ricardo puts a curse on him.Then blanca flor takes a strand of jaunitos hair and makes it a dove.Then she does the same with astrand of her hair.Then blanca flor comes to the welcome back party and she brings the doves.Then the curse is lifted and blanca flor fall in love.

favorite charter is Don Ricardo.
He is the most intersting character because he is evil and
powerful. In the story Don Ricardo holds captive a women named Blanca Flor. He is making her work until her and her parents
debts are piad off.
Then a boy named Juanito came
along.Don Ricardo made Juanito and
Blanca Flor work but Juanito only
had to do three jobs. Three really
hard jobs. Juanito and Blanca Flore decided to escape.
Don Ricardo found out and went
to find them. Blanca Flor used
her magic to dequise them the
first and second time, but the
third time Don Ricardo found them,
Blanca Flor used her magic and
turned them into geese and they
flew away, even though Don Ricardo could not reach them he put a curse on them. The first
person that Juantio sees will make
him forget about Blanca Flor.

I think the most interesting character is Blanca Flor because she uses her magic powers. She was very when she use her power as a spit to fool Don Ricardo.She is very smart and uses her powers very wise.She is a very helpful person.I liked the one when she took out her brush and began to brush his hair.
She did very good when she turned herself into a statue,corn of field ,and the duks.Blanca Flor is a very nice person.She helped Juanito escape from Don Ricardo's land.She helped Juanito with his 2 jobs.My favorite part is the ending when she gives Juanito the two singing doves>

I think the most interesting character is Blanca Flor because she knos how to save here slef in situations and she has very cool powers. Blanca Flor is a prisoner and held captive of Don recardo. When she meets Juanito she falls in love. Then when thair in danger she knows how to get out of it, by her powers. When Don Recardo see's Blanca Flor and Juanito he trys to get them but...... he lost. Blanca Flor is a strong character and she is fun to imagine thats why Blanca Flor is is the most interesting.

I think Blanca Flor is the most interesting character in this story. I think that about her because she is the one that has all the magical powers . She used her powers for mostly good things . One of the times she used her powers was when helping Juanito do his chores with her magical powers .
Some examples of when she used her powers wher when she moved the lake , and made the bread for Don Ricardo . She also turned Juanito and her self to some things like a bell ringer , a church ,a scarcrow , some corn , and my favorite one out of all of them was when they turned into doves . When she handed the doves to Juanito at the end of the story I thought that was the most beutiful part of the story . Thats why I like Blanca Flor the most !

i think Don Recardo is the most interesting carecter because he is like an old fasion villan. He has someone in captivity, and someone tries to free them. I just like reading thoese kind of books. When he sees juanito with Blanca Flor he gets kind of angry because he is on his land then he makes him do 3 imposible tasks for him.he tells Juanito "didnt she tell you to leave". Later he figurs out that Blanca Flor is using magic against him to do his work. But a weird part of him is that he has a really deep voies and he is not big or an animal of some sort.
Ive never would of thought of using the kind of spell that Don Recardo used. He uses loud and kind of big words. When he talks he sound like if a lion is talking if they could talk. A question i would ask is if the forest duende was working with Don Recardo? So like i said don recardo is the most interesting carecter in the story.
I think the most interesting person in Blanca Flor is Blanca Flor. The reason is because she has cool magical powers. When she said the power has always been in the women in my family it made me wonder how they got the power. I wonder if someone gave it to the first woman. I also wonder if just one day they just got the power. Examples from the story are...
When Juanito fell, hopeless Blanca Flor made him fall asleep by brushing his hair. When he was awake she had moved all the water to the field.
Another example is when Juanito forgot Blanca Flor. She was heart broken but she didn't lose hope. She made singing doves for him at his celebration. When the birds sang the curse was lifted.

I think the most interesting character is Blanca Flor because she is very clever,brave,and mysterios what I mean about mysterios is that she has magic powers.Blanca Flor is very clever because when she tried to run away she spit in the chimeny 3 times first so when Don Ricardo tried to call her her own spit would answer for her. I love the storys end because at the end Blanca Flor gets one of juanitos hair and one of her hair and she turn them into two singing doves and the birds made juanito remember all about the love they had and at the end they fall in love again....aaaaaaa

I feel that the most interesting character from the story is Don Ricardo. I find him intriguing because of his desire to capture young lost men and give them a "fair chance to save Blanca Flor" even though he knows that this task is virtually impossible.
I feel that Don Ricardo has some rather not so bright assumptions of Blanca Flor’s and Juanitos disguises wouldn’t you agree? Or would you disagree?
